USDM f22b (accord) with SOHC vtec : 145hp
or the
JDM f22b (jdm prelude) with DOHC non-vtec : 160hp?

Hope you're referring to the DOHC one.
If it was the SOHC, you just got ripped off, unless it was a free swap.

well cec92lude, im almost positive your talking about the DOHC which is the same in my car now . . . . i had an Si and replaced it with the F22 simply because it was cheaper and I believe the motor out lasts the H23's . . . . its actually around 157 to 158 hp, since they measure power in PS in japan so 160 PS is equal to around 157 to 158 hp here. . . . it does however slack on the torque compared to the H23 losing around 8lbs. Most mods used on the H23 should apply to the F22 as well, the bolts on the header flanges are the same, and etc., just remember that your not getting quite the power that the H23 has though . . .

Unless your gonna boost the **** out of that motor, or you have a single cam, that f22b is a good motor, if you have the h23a1 in their rite now i suggest not to perform the swap the h23a1 is much more torquer, and redlines at a higher rpm than the f22b, you will need that ecu to run correctly otherwise you will be driving with a check engine light on all the time, trust me only if you need a temporary motor then that is the answer but if you want a better swap save up for a h22a.

well it is the dohc and the only reason i am even doing a swap is becasue my stock mottor has 230,000 miles and soem serious problems so i this was the most cost efficent way to get a decent swap. But thanks everyone for the help.

So it's a DOHC?

BTW, you can get a JDM H22 longblock for like $1100 from HMotorsonline.com and throw that in with your tranny until you can save up for an H22 tranny later.

remember about the wiring... the motor will bolt right in, but i heard the wiring is a bitch. i was actually looking into swapping the sohc vtec into my lude, just for ***** and giggles.... i turned that idea down when they told me the wiring will cost me $85/hour and they had no idea how long it would take for the wiring.
the money you think your saving will go into the labor. i figure go with the h22. it bolts up and wiring is just a simple harness.

good luck.

My engine is getting put in right now and i should have it back by friday. Same harness and all no problems their. So far i have put $1500 in my swap that is including clutch, engine, replacing every gasket and seal you can think of on the engine before putting it in, resurfacing flywheel, fixing stripped bolts on exhaust and all labor. So i figure tahts pretty good. who knows ill let yall know how it works out when i get it back.
