Picture of crack on casing, should I worry? Also pictures of car
This happened in my accident
- It looks like I might try to fix the car or salvage all the mechanical parts and buy a shell..Am I over reacting when I say I want a shell? Here are some pics of the damage the actual body took.
I didn't take a pic of the crack on the windshield, all my rear view mirrors also cracked, small dent on the quarter panel..
Its hard to say how bad the damage is to the car exactly from the pictures.
As long as the frame isn't bet, I say forget buying a shell. That will cost more money. It wouldn't be hard at all to get used bumper & fenders, and a new hood (cf maybe?), get them painted if necissary.

JB Weld that SOB and bada bing, ITR Tranny!
You may be able to fix the casing, bring it to a mechanic/welder and see what they think. If not, you can always rip it apart and sell it piece by piece...I have dibs on the LSD
To what extent is the damage besides body panels?

Well, if the casing can't be salvaged I can always change the casing right? ;p
I am not sure the extent of the damage .. far as frame or anything.. Not sure what to look for, I was so pissed off that the **** happened that I towed the car home (peace $160.00) and have hardly looked at it..
It does look like it's all body panels because I didn't hit anything DEAD ON.... Basically I avoided hitting another car and drove into somebodys driveway / lawn that just so happened to have lots of wood and metal dug into his lawn, i blew my tire and just lost control of the vehicle... didn't hit another car, wall, or anything like that.. just misc ****

Remove your bumper fenders and hood. If you know someone w/autobody experience they have an alignment tool that they use to see if the frame is bent or not. (thats what the holes on each corner of the engine bay are for

all the paradise blue green pearl tegs are dying on us here.
the crack should be nothing to worry about unless it leaks. If it does, find a new tranny case.

yea, take it to a mechanic and see what they say about possibly weldin that sucker back together...
Well, I filed my claim with the insurance and the adjuster should be out in a few days.. If I get good money from the insurance I might just do the JDM front..
**** happened for me too...
Aprill 11th at an intercetion some stupid *** minivan drove me off the road...
Then dent in the quater panel, is that from a direct hit or is that due to a stress point over the frame?
My **** came out to a 3700 estimate....and I dont think he noticed the door....

internally it should be fine, from what i can see it's part of the bell housing so it's probably leaking now. like someone said, use jb weld, honestly, it'll work.
I personally wouldn't worry too much about those cracks in the casing. My tranny has a ton of those spider type cracks and has never leaked or caused any problems....
