i was lookin at clutches on ebay and i was wondering whats the differences in the clutch between the d16a6 motor and the d16z6 motor?? i thought the clutch would be the same seeings how the flywheel is the same? am i makin any sense here??
this is cuz they have different clutches and are a different part number

if they are a different part number they are different. that is the way you tell. i dont know what the diff is, but if there a diff part # then whatever it is, their diff.
well act makes one clutch for 89-00 d series. this means that the flywheel is the same size, clutch disc (212mm/20splines)
90-00 Clutch disc and pressure plates are the same. The throw out bearings are different though. 88 and 89 use a smaller disc and pressure plate. 88's also have a different spline on the input shaft shaft while 89-00 are the same.
sorry to bring this in here but im going to install a tranny today on my car and we are using an 89 dx tranny but I think the final drive has been swapped to an si and we are using a 90 si flywheel, pressure plate, clutch and release bearing. It should work right? just a bit paranoid but im pretty sure it should work.
To keep this on topic I heard the 92 clutches are better than the 89-91, in what way I don't know. I was told to install one but I got the 90 Si one instead.
