would EF struts fit on an EG???
just wondering if 90-91 hb struts would fit on a 93 hb??? i can get a good deal on some struts and if they would fit then i think i might pick them up
yea i think it will sit a little lower, but if you do it, get different springs. the ef struts have a way shorter piston... i have my struts off of my crx on my 94 hatch. i have coilovers on it.. the car (from factory height) is istting about 3" lower. maybe a little less. but it rides smoother than my crx ever did, and handles great. the front just use the ef front fork. and the rear, as long as they are 89-91 struts they bolt up fine, 88 rear struts are a little different. they go through the middle of the lca instead of around it. if u use 88, then get the lca for the rear 88. that is how i have mine. everything is the same length and all.
i think just shorter strut pistons lowered the car about an inch, maybe a little more. and i know when i used crx lowering springs, i had to use the top peices of the strut assembly as well. the rubber inserts that the spring sits in. but if you use ef struts... and you buy lowering springs that dont have much of a drop... they might be the same length as stock ef springs and not lower it any, just be stiffer. and if you have ef lowering springs, they might not be strong enough in the front to support the extra weight.
let me try to un-confuse everybody........EF strut piston is 1.3" shorter. you buy EG spings that lower the car 1.5" , it will be like buying .2" lowering springs. so if you buy 2.3" EG lowering springs on the EF struts.... you will have 1" lowering springs for the strut. but, you already have that initial 1.3" drop from the shortened piston. so in all reality....your car will be lowered like 2.3" but ride like you only lowered it an inch. you still get almost all of your suspension travel cuz the piston is shorter. sorry i know i am confusing... hope somebody cane understand my point
