Default H22 is running :)

Finally got her running today!

One problem.

My throttle cable is slightly too long...what can I do? Can I just put a spacer or something at the accelerator pedal?

Edit: Accidently posted before I was done typing.

Good job . For the throttle cable, try bending the throttle cable bracket lip back towards the driver side, so it pulls the cable tighter. BTW, did you hook up the AC yet with the bracket you got for me?

Newman, yep...got it hooked up. It's a dang tight fit! Works though

As far as the throttle cable, I've got it setup exactly like the pic from Fastwanabe....but the problem lies with the actual cable itself..... It's just slightly too long....I can't take up any more slack in it. When I make it taught, it sticks out above the accelerator pedal....I was thinking maybe I could just stick some washers up between the pedal and the end of the cable?

I really don't know what to do about it

yes...it's as tight/far as it's going to go.

But the cable itself still has free play in it.

The only thing I can think of to tighten it up would be to put a spacer between the end of the cable and the top of the accelerator pedal.

hey, try flipping the L bracket on the IM so that way the L bracket pushes the cable and takes up the slack.

I've done everything with the bracket that I can.

I'm thinking I might make a copy of the stock bracket, but make it a little longer to hold the cable farther away from the intake.

It's about time man.

Congrats. How's the car running besides your throttle cable bracket problem?

I really wish I would have kept my ac now. All these h22 guys with ac are making me jealous. Haha. h22 civics w/ AC

I really don't know which throttle cable I'm using. My car has been through 3 previous swaps from the former owner, so I've really got no clue. It's just about 1/2" too long.

I'm hoping to get to drive it around the block today....I couldn't yesterday because Honda gave me the wrong axle nuts

She runs good though. To Steve from HMO for it

Its about damn time. Haha. Congrats dude. Im confused about your whole throttle cable deal. When i hade the H22 in my dx i used the stock dx cable and had no problems at all. You should be able to adjust tight i think you might just be overlooking the solution. If you can get it figured out grab yourself a 98-01 integra type r cable. About the shortest one out there. Good luck. Let us know if its fast.

congrats on finishing the swap. definately let us know how that ride feels like. especially with the a/c on in idle (heard some vibration problems). im sure that you wont have to worry about that though with the brackets form JDMshit. by the way hows the fitment of the engine in there with that mount kit in there from them. sorry for being so curious and annoying but i want the same swap for my 99 hatchie. peace

I would like to know too, it's proabably not the stock cable considering how its too long but hey you could also get the 97 Lude cable and that will work.

Well I finally took her around the block. The Hasports jolt the car a little at startup, but when driving, they feel great.

I made a temp fix to the throttle cable..I'm gonna run to a supply store and just bend a copy out of some aluminum to the exact length I need.

I didn't really get on it much as I'm running 87 octane, I've got a slight leak at my fuel filter, a huge exhaust leak , the alternator belt is slipping (sounds horrible at startup!), and I need an alignment. But just giving it a little throttle off of idle I can tell this thing is for sure a beast compared to the b18b I had!

I'm loving it already

Question...what should I set the Fuel Pressure at? It's sitting at about 38-39psi right now at idle. Should I bump it up a tad?

And one more thing...just because I'm nervous....what should I do/check before I take it up to redline? Anything?
