Default Timing belt - dealer/shop or myself?

I checked my timing belt when I did a valve adjustment this past saturday and it definately needs to be changed. It has cracks on the outside and looks dry. Car has 104k on it and I don't think it's been changed yet.

How much does the timing belt job usually cost at the dealer or a shop? I want to install some cam gears when its done since it'd be so easy access. Think the dealer would do that for me? I guess I could try to do the job myself with some buddies if it's wouldn't be too bad.

Replacing your timing belt on preludes is not a quick easy job. It takes time, patience, and special tools. It is also fairly expensive to have a dealer work on it cuz it does take some time. If you are not too mechanically inclined I suggest to have the dealer do it. Just my opinion.
