Integra Battery In The Trunk, who has done it?
Summit Racing sells a package for 40 dollars that comes with everything you need to move your battery to the trunk, but has anyone done this? If you could post pics, it doesnt have to be the summit racing kit, just what you used, I think i might be able to do it cheaper if i could find out what i needed to buy and where i could get this stuff, let me know thanks
get some nice big cable, 2 for that matter about 10-15ft in length, most likely 4 aug from a car audio store, some battery terminals from your local auto store and some big wire connects...i forgot where my freind got his, but thats how we did ours. If you plan on dragging this you need that battery case w/ a vent to the outside. In the teg we did it on we ran the hose out the drivers side rear fender into the rear of the unibody, if you pull the bumper off youll see the vent there. It has something to do w/ toxic fumes from the battery and what not, sorry i dont have pics but good luck.
put mines in the trunk too but idon't have pics...there are some on g2ic..... it was easy took about 30-45 minutes . just remember to regound it under the hood .

Unless you used a sealed dry cell battery (like Optima), you MUST vent the battery (in a sealed box) to the outside as it gives off hydrogen gasses.
I did this on my old Camry and it ended up costing me about $300 to do the whole project, including the battery, plus show quality cables and connectors and fuse holders, etc.
I recommend using at least 2 guage cable and put a 150-amp fuse or circuit breaker on the cable near the battery. 4-guage will not cut it as I found out.
If you're doing this for weight purposes, you might as well just get a lightweight racing battery that fits in the stock location. I've seen some that are only about 15 lbs. or so.

I have done this. I would post a picture but my car is getting repaired right now due to a failed theft. If I get her back in the next few days I'll put up a pick. I used the kit from Summit that came with a plastic box and all the hardware. It was like $30
O sorry just saw you were talking about the Summit one, ya $40 sounds right. I would recommend it. You might have to mess with it if your car came with a baby battery like mine did.

If you do this mod and drag race your teg. install a kill switch too. Have it visable for tech inspection at the strip.
NHRA rulebook states you must have one if you relocated the battery.

relocation of the battery to the trunk is for the purpose of even weight distribution.

I put my battery of my 4dr integra in the trunk so I can free up space to layout my MSD system under the hood. I even built my own battery box out of sheet metal too. Looks great from a distance but upclose not so great. I will try to get some pics up for ya...
Pep-boys sells a box for $11. Run wire from your engine harness (where the postiive terminal would normally got to the battery) all the way to the trunk. screw the braces that come with the kit into the back and theres a tie down strap to hold everything in place.
