Most power from a 1600?
Hi there, new poster here and I am trying to find out about what there is in the way of 1.6 litre Honda engines.
I'm sorry, but I know pretty much zip about them, so please be gentle!
I am looking at several 1.6 litre engines for my racing car, and the main limit when building such an engine is the 8500rpm rev limit.
So which is the best version of Honda to get, the best head, etc.

Ok, If you want to a lot about the engines, click on this: https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch and search for d15, d16, b16, b18, b17, b20, and "mini-me". The search will give you a lot of pages about all of motors.
EDIT: why you want to only learn about the 1.6 litre engine(s)?

Ta, I'll do a search.
I only need to know about a 1.6 litre as that's what the rules require.
I'm after the most power, so it'd have to be a twin cam.

The b16b would probably be the best starting point. It makes 185hp stock and is built to last at 8500 or so rpms. I don't know exactly why your limit is 1.6 litres, but from what I understand the only reason this motor exists is because of a racing class where the limit is 1.6 litres. This motor might have been built purposely just for you
you could also build a d16y8. it is a single cam, but the best as far as sohc go. i guess it all depends on how fast you are planning on goin, and the rules of the event. i have seen many really damn fast b16's but i'v also seen a few dmn fast d16's so it all depends on you budget too. you have to give us more perameters to work with if you want a good responce. just whats a good 1.6 is too vage. tell us what it will be for and what you want to do, and some of the rules of the sport. then you'll get better feedback.
