RS-R header review
Well, I finally installed this header I've had sitting in the garage for a month.
The results of the install are a little distorted because I was replacing a DC 4-1 that had the bottom two primaries pretty beat up.
The install went pretty well, finished in about 45 mins.
The header looks great in, being that it is polished ss.
Results:
I could feel quite a difference in the 3k to 5.5k rpm range. The new torque feels great and the car pulls better coming out of turns.
The top end isn't the same story. The car doesn't feel as strong up to 8200.
I find myself shifting earlier than in the past so I can get into that good torquey section of the powereband.
I apologize for not having any graphs to compare, I guess you'll just have to trust the butt dyno.
Jake.

2 1/8" collector, which just happens to be the same as the US version Mugen exhaust that is on my car. This is also one of the reasons I switched.
Hopefully the top end will come around when I add the FPR & V-AFC.

as far as i know yea

that 2" collector seems to be the cause of your torque and lack of high end. Did you measure your mugen exhaust with the same ruler or are you saying that the mugen inlet is 2 1/8 from stats and your header was measured at (corrected) 2"?

NICE! ... im thinking of purchasing an aftermarket header ... was thinking of the Apex'i GT Spec but the price is a wee bit steep for the-old-wallet. I'll definately look into the RS*R now ... "if the price is right."
Thanks again!

To be honest, I didn't personally measure ch*t.
I know the USDM Mugen exhaust is 2 1/8" piping and I was mearly under the impression that the RS*R collector was 2 1/8". So... Yes? errr, yea.
In any case, I'm happy with how it turned out.
It sounds great and pulls harder in the part of the powerband that the car is usually in.
By the way, no cat. I'm using a test pipe.

paid $260 including shipping, but I forget where. Didn't think that was to bad a price, especially for something that is stainless.
