Default OT: Ok no new Type R's left in the South East, what about a used one?

Anybody know of a 01 Black Type R for sale in the South East US? I would like for it to be in Mid to South Flordia. I did find one new R in PA with 280 miles on it, but it is just not worth flying out there and then shipping it back. Thanks for the help.

like I said before, I don't know if you looked, but my buddy just traded a 2K black one at West Palm Acura...check to see if they haven't sold it yet...he is around 30-35 yrs old and it was BONE STOCK! Not abused in any way

I don't know how long ago he traded it, probably a couple of weeks....

I don't know what else to tell you, except maybe Ardmore PA might not be such a bad idea if you plan on getting one

Yea I know. But here is the deal. $180 round trip ticket out there. $900 for shipping down to south florida. If I dont buy the car while I am up there, I only get back 700 from the shipping company. I just dont under stand why every Acura dealer I call say there are no more for sale in the eastern US and PA still has one, with 280 miles to boot. Man, why did I have to total my car so close to the end of the year...

Well, I am originally from the philly/NJ area...Let me see if I can get my friend to take a look at it for you (if he has time, it's about a half hour from him) I'll see what I can do and have him report it back to me.

He was my roommate in college and got to see my car a lot, so he knows enough about them...

Why would the shipping company require a deposit? Unless you told them a date that you wanted exclusively? I would just drive it back honestly

WOW... thanks alot. That would save me a big headache. I've called every dealer form south florida up to PA looking for one closer, but no luck, although every single dealer tryed to sell me an RSX. I believe they allready got some in at Ed Morse, might have to go check it out this weekend just for ***** and giggles. Again thank you very much.

The deposit is if I had they guy pick it up on the day I was in town. That way they would not be out if I desided not to buy the car. As far as driving it, that is 1100 miles, on I-95, at 65 mph (so I dont go over 4k), for 16 hours... dunno if its worth my time or the millage I'd put on the car.

I was at Rick Case today ordering my RS door bezels and they didn't get any yet...they said they are getting 8, but 7 are already sold (but that's just usually a tactic to get you the buy the mysterious 8th, which happens to be in the color you happen to want) I HATE CAR SALESMEN

I should talk to my buddy tonight...I'll let you know

when I moved down here, I trailered my R...I drove a 24 ft Ryder truck w/ a 16 ft trailer w/ my R...I couldn't do more that 60 going downhill...that was from the Jersey Shore to Broward County...24 hours of hell! If you go over the 4K, it's not going to kill it, but I wouldn't do it the whole trip

Again thanks alot. I just want to make sure that it is defently a Black Type R and it does not look like it was driven like a 5 dollar ***** for the 280 miles that are on it. Again thank you very much. Also if its not asking to much, would it be possible for him to grab the VIN off of it? If not I'll just call them and ask for it.

Ok, I just got off the phone w/ him...he said he won't have time this weekend to do it...He may be able to next weekend, but I don't want you to wait and miss out on it.

He did have a suggestion though...he just had a car he bought shipped from Tampa to NJ for $500. He suggests flying in to Philly, checking out the car and arranging for them to ship it if everything is cool. You don't have to be there for them to ship it, so there's no deposit, so to speak...

I would try it out...

I think I'm just going to pay for my friend to fly up with me next thursday and if I buy the car, the two of us will drive it back. If not, we get to hand out in PA till our flight at 8pm. Again thanks for all the help.
