What is the widest tires that I can fit under the fenders of a 92 civic hatch?

 

I dunno for sure... However the widest I would ever go is 205... Normally 195 is good but then again I hate wheels any bigger than 15's so it keeps the ratio low... Peace

 

i would also like to know, i have 175's on my del sol right now and it looks like i have 4 little donutes on my car.

 

I dont really care what it looks like, I just need a wider contact patch.

 

But you care about the wheels rubbing on your fender right.... Again, even 195/50-15's will rub on the fender as will anything bigger so it's up to you... I would still say 205... Sorry if I'm not helping... Latez

i dont what wider tires just for looks, i want better traction on the street where i cant drive with slicks.

 

I think you can put 225's on gsr rims.

205 is the widest I have seen on a civic...

 

I would just go with the 205's with a +38 or +40 offset. I'm running 205's with a +40 offset and they rubbed in the back and in the front when taking a tight turn so I ended up having to cut the fenders. Everythings fine now.

GSR wheels are only 6" wide, I HIGHLY doubt that. On a 6.5" wheel sure.

 

i have 205-15-50, n thats already big and wide enough for me, it scraps on my fenders and my car is pretty high.

 

I've seen 315's on a widebody Civic show car. I don't recommend you try it though.

need more info here. How low is the car? Everything else stock? Splash guards in place? 205/50-15 BFG g-force drag radials will be fine unlees the car is absolutely in the weeds. ...and i've got a set for sale VERY few miles on them...



I have 225/45 15 Hoosier's on my hatch, but definately had to do some "modification" to make them fit.

 

how much do u want for them ??...hatchy- i knwo for a fact u can fit 215 on ur hatch i had em on my crx and my bro hatch..

 

they have approx. 8-900 miles on them. Used for motor break-in. I'm going back to 17" wheels. I'm asking $150 shipped.

-the width of the tire (i.e. 205, 195, etc) is not a ratio. it is simply the measure of the tread of the tire, measured in millimeters. hence a 205 series tire measures 205 mm across the tread length.
-the ratio involved would be the percentage of the sidewall in contrast to the width of the tread and the height of the tire measured from the hub.(i.e. 205 45 16, etc.
-you can usually fit most 215 series tires on 7'' wheels.

 

Sorry, I wasn't talking about that, I know how tires are sized... I was talkin about the overall diameter ratio... Again I like only 15's with 195/50-55's... That's just me tho... Peace

 

i would definetly go 215..better traction and handling...

 

I have 205/50/15 's on all for corners on LS 'webs' and they don't rub at all. great for traction and hard cornering. i didn't want them any wider because of rain and snow here in MN.
