JDM HIDs Install

Just got a good deal on some JDM HIDs (800!! *Mint*) and now I'm ready to install them. My question is are they just plug and play or does it require a little more work. Do I need to change out any fuses or anything. Also what wires connect to what. Off the headlamp is a black wire, red/white wire, red/yellow, red/blue, and red/black. Whats the corresponding wires for them. Diagrams or pictures anyone?

I have the JDM headlights and i think its just that one wire difference.
the harness for the headlights has 4 plugs. The way mine was setup was like this.
I have 4 plugs and 2 wires that ran out to the 9006 headlight bulb. the other 4 wires that ran to the harness was for your Highbeams, City lights, fog lights and one ground. are yours the same right now? I wired up my OEM CL-S HID's into my existing headlight wires. I think you can match up the wires that come out of the ballast to your existing 9006 wires that lead into the wire bunch. Just match them up, see what wires come from the ballast and do it like that. I think its basically the same. I believe the existing harness doesn't have a wire plug for your lowbeams so follow the same pattern but when you replace the Halogen ones for the HID's, follow the wires for the halogen headlight and splice the HID ones into that wire. thats the only advice i have right now. Im going to try and get some pics for you tomorrow of my existing setup and we can see if they are the same cause if they are, you can just wire the HID ballast wires into your headlight wires and you should be set to go. This is only a logical guess to this, HID headlights might have a different harness. Anyone wanna help out on this?
I think you can change out the fuses to a 25 or 20 amp fuse. The HID's run a lower curren compared to the halogen ones. 45 versus 35 i think. it should be fine.

any ground would work, but it would be a good idea to join at least 2 different grounds together into 1 wire, then hook that wire to the headlight ground. The reason is that there is only 1 ground on the headlight, and with so many power sources sharing that ground, it would be a good idea to have a "bigger" ground wire.

Damn, you sure are uninformed, just do a little searching! The truth is out there <said in my best X Files voice>

Nope, you have to remove the bumper to remove the headlights, and the ballats use a safety screw that requires a screw driver that I gaurantee you do not have in your toolbox

HIDs are SCREWED.
This is what happens, about 4 seconds after I turn on my lights my left beam just shuts off, only my left low beam. On HIDs, before they've warmed up, they're very blue and they 'turn' to white after a couple seconds. Its right at that point where you see it change to superwhite that my left beam just shuts off. Kind of does a little flicker for a mil and then shuts off completely. I can turn it on again, but I have to turn off my lights and turn it on again, but same thing happens. At first I thought it was a fuse problem and yesterday when I checked it they were still good. After that I even wired up my foglights to the 9006 wire to see if power was just cutting off somewhere and power checked good, it never cut off. Its the ballast that went to sht on my left headlamp. When I first installed them, they were running great for two hours. I went to sleep, woke up the next morning and while I was driving to work, I see my left beam just turn off while I was on the freeway (not bumpy). So anyway right now my heart is aching and I have to mourn for these HIDs. In a couple days, I'm gonna re-install my NON-HIDS back if I don't find out exactly whats wrong and if i can't fix it. I'll post a pic of a "before the 4 seconds" and "after the four seconds" picture. Anyone have this problem before on OEM HIDs or aftermarket HID kits? Sound like a ballast problem to you? Is there a REPLACEMENT or fixer for ITR HID ballasts if they break? Please let me know. Oh and again, the problem is only on the driver side.
What can I do???

The problem is, where am I gonna get another ballast to swap. I doubt anyone is gonna sell just one headlamp or ballast alone. I don't know actually, would I be able to replace the ballasts with a Kit since and make it perform the same as OEM since I already have the housing? What are my options..
Have you tried using the passenger side ballast as a source to see if the ballast is even your problem? I think that it could be your only problem...but however..Change your headlight fuse to a 15 on up..cause..all though there not blown..maybe the lights have some sort of power cut..when it senses some sort of problemm....which I remember hooking up the hid's and only one side turned off...and only that side did the fuse go out. Just change them to be sure...cause its always the most tiny thing..that is your problem..
Good luck

I'll try upping my fuse, but wouldn't it be making it more destructive if I let the current ride that high if it were to move up 15amps instead of 10? I'll try it anyway though. Watching one of my HID's die out everytime I turn it on just makes me cry if you know what I mean. Anyone know if aftermarket HID kits mesh well with your OEM housing if the ballasts hit the fan? I need to do something...
