you can use stock bushings, but new poly bushings will help a lot.

and there are no instructions

i heard that the height on the Skunk2 shifter is the same as stock but the throw is shorter, is that true? I'm looking for a short shifter but I'm looking for one that is not DC, which is too short (in height)

the double bend skunk2 will get the shift **** at near stock location, but try the single bend. It will work on the g3 as well and it will be a little lower and sit a little farther back towards you i htink.

get a DC Sport short shifter if you are looking for a shorter height.

dc sports is garbage. its aluminum, which can break, and its known for wearing synchros.. b&m short shifter is a good choice.. it has no bends and short in height.. only problem with it is that it sits a lil further up from the neutral postion.. its not really a problem unless you have short arms

Yes, you can use a single bend shifter on all G3 tegs. I had a cheapo short shifter made for a civic in my teg, it fit just fine, but I didn't like the way it felt. I just recently swapped it out for the stock shifter, and I won't go back.

the shifter by itself cannot cause synchro problems. A DC Sports would not cause synchro problems any more than a Skunk2 or even a C's shifter.

I've had a no-name aluminum shifter in my car for almost 2 years now, no problems whatsoever. Shifts are very smooth, very short, and the **** sits at stock height.

I personally hate the B&M shifter, which always rattles, and sits farther away from the driver. Also the ones I've tried out all have too much freeplay, almost like the stock shifter.

B&M isn't the best choice. I have one, but the only downside I've experienced from it is that there are no bends. I don't like leaning forward every other shift. However, it is extremely strong, meaning it won't break. If you install it with both the included bushings and stock bushings and use the grease liberally, it won't rattle or slack on you. Then again, a good shifter doesn't require all those slight modifications just to get it working flawlessly.

If you want a no-hassle shifter, get the Skunk2, Neuspeed, or C's.

Get Skunk2! I just installed it like 5 days ago and its awesome. i used the stock bushings and it still shifts hella nice and everything. the height on the skunk2 did not change whatsoever and the throws are hella short! everytime someone goes in my car or messes with my shifter they are in shock of how close the shifts are.

Poly Bushings $15... I am putting the Skunk2 SS, Energy Suspension bushings, and the Skunk2 **** in tonight. Hopefully it will won't rattle like my shitty Taiwan generic SS does now against my 3" midpipe. I'll let you know how I like it

just as a heads-up, the prothane shifter bushings are stiffer than the energy susp ones... depending on what you like i would recommend the prothane.

****** fantastic! I just installed the Skunk2 double bend SS, Skunk2 ****, and the ES poly bushings. It was much easier than I expected, the poly bushings went on in the first try. I used a light coating of white lithium grease. My shifts are much smoother and more precise, I feel like it has improved my driving a ton... Night and day difference, no rattles against my 3" either. I also do not have any excessive vibration that some people have gotten with the ES bushings.
