Vtec crossover!
As far as I know, the GSR vtec engages at around 4400 or maybe 4800 but I think it is 4400. Alot of the GSR owners I've met think vtec hits at around 5 something also, but that is just your secondaries opening up in your intake manifold.

Vtec - 4400.
Secondaries - 5800.
Secondaries does not = vtec.
Done.
Its not different in any gear.</TD></TR></TABLE>
you know this topic has been discussed several times and people say vtec kicks in at 4400. I pay attention to it so hard but can never hear it on mine until it hits 5800. Some say they can hear it, but I could never, but oh well......i guess the sooner the better????

5800 IS NOT VTEC!!!
FYI, VTEC can vary during part throttle. At WOT it's 4400 as stated above. The highest it's kicked in for me during part throttle is 4800. But of course the stock tach isn't always accurate.

Yea...if you read my post (Dr. Martin), you wouldve seen that I too noted 5800 is the secondaries...which, as I also mentioned, does not equate to vtec.
Yes...its louder at 5800 than 4400...but that has nothing to do with VTEC.
