Default Stock Airbox on 94 Accord...

was wondering if i could remove the bottom part of my stock intake system. it has a solenoid on it with a one way check valve and hosing that goes to the intake manifold. if i do remove this, what should i do with that vacuum line?? if pictures are needed, let me know and i'll post them.

thanks

chris

I have a 94 accord and I dont have jack on my intake system...no solenoids or anything, unless you mean on the part under the bumper ( havn't taken it out yet)... Pics would help!
Is your car a LEV or a CA model by chance?? thats the only reason I could think you would have extra stuff on there..

plug the vacuum line with a screw or something, and tape it off to the frame so it won't get in the way. don't worry about any check engines lights going off, it won't happen. that "bottom part" has to do with emissions, don't worry about getting rid of it.

disconnect and remove the box and silinoid... it will have no effect other than the open vaccuum line connection (which you can cap easily with a rubber nipple from the autoparts store).

also there is a resonator box and what not in the fender... that all is junk and can be removed. all it is, is a bunch of dead end and passages for intake air to be routed off.

Ha, weird, I had always wandered what that tube was for. The Metal tubes mounted directly behind the intake manifold: My car only has the top one with rubber hoses on it, the one under it(that is for your airbox solenoid) just sits there with nothing routed through it.
