The oil flter stud should have a nut on it so you can remove it with a socket. I think it's about a 24mm nut.

good idea on practicing on a spare block!

I think I used a 15/16" or 24mm 1/2" drive socket.

you can't use a 24mm socket... it doesn't have a nut there... there no oil cooler...

On the base of the thread there is a nut, break it with a large socket and it will fall right out. It`s cake

I guess JDM blocks are different because every oil filter stud that I have seen had the 24mm nut on the stud.

94-95 GSRs have a nut to remove the stock cooler, it was big...24mm sounds right. I had to go to Sears for the right socket since it was so big.

Im not sure about B18B's, but I would think its the same. Try sliding a socket in there and see if you grip anything, or definitely take a good look/feel at it before taking plyers/grips to it.

Guys, listen. I just did this to my car. As stated about, Use vise grips, and get them REALLLLLLY tight, and thats it. You will not get this out any other way.

You can NOT use the "nut trick" as you will not find nuts that big to double them.

I guess motors without the OEM oil cooler do not have the 24mm nut at the base of the stud.

No they dont, They have no need for it. As acura does not expect people to put on oil coolers. Lol
