Where does one get maps for this unit?

And how good is it?

Finally, considering it appears to be a Japan only item, where to get it here?

MAPs? It comes with its own base program. The alter that you should spend a little time on a dyno.
Great tuning tool. Wish I still had one.
I know Godspeed and I can get them.
