Ah, headlight baking 101

So how long and at what temp did you bake at tonight

Did you primer the lights then paint them or just paint them. Turned out great. Ive done a few eg's now

Umm that definately looks real good. So what do you do to the part that is still chrome? Vaseline, tape or what?

I taped off the headlights with masking tape, and for the corners I just unscrewed the little orange piece that goes around the bulb and painted all the chrome so its still black underneath the orange.

Wow looks nice with the corners done too.

Have you noticed a change in brighness/effectiveness of your headlights since you painted? I wouldn't think so but ya never know.

I didn't take pics of the rsx headlights because my friend's car is in the body shop getting painted so he just brought me his headlights and I did them for him. They look EXACTLY like the jdm ones. Baked his too and the piece that gets painted black comes out so there was no taping, just remove all the reflectors so its black underneath them.

KOALA YUMMIES:
Yea those are allen screws in the oem front lip . I want a nice lip but don't want to spend so much money on a nice one like the spoon carbon fiber. I can think of so much better things to do with that much money.

wm5holla:
The corners take less time then the headlights. I'd try them after 10 and then if they don't come apart nicely just put them back in for a couple minutes at a time to try and avoid the melting.

honda_joe:
The brightness really wasn't changed. I still pretty much have the same visibility at night, maybe a little less. The lights look awesome lit up at night though too.
