Moving; should I sell or keep my stock parts?
I have a tuff decision. I will be moving in August and I am starting to get rid of everything I don't need to make the move as small and simple as possible. I was going to keep all of my stock parts, but now I think I am going to get rid of it all to make this move as simple as possible. I will never use these parts again until I sell the car, so rather than pay years of storage for them I am thinking of getting rid of them. As you can see from the list it takes up a lot of space, so I will need a place to store. I am not taking offers, so please no e-mails or IM.
Will I regret it?

All that stuff is maybe one big moving box, or two medium boxes? Just keep it. If you can't move it with you. Pack it up and ship it to your new address. At most, it will cost you about $100-$150. You may want the stuff later. What if your modifications break and you need a part? It is good to keep stock stuff.
keep the stuff. i remember reading this quote somewhere and always think about whenever i have too much junk lying around:
"its better to have and not need than to need and not have"
...something like that.

I'm not going to vote since its definitely your own personal decision. All i can give you is my own personal experience and decision.
I've owned my gsr for 7 years now. Its been through many many changes. Yes for the most part i've upgraded just as you have but the fact is its not worth it to return alot of the stuff back to stock. Its not worth the time nor the money to do so. There may be a few things you'd want to keep just because you possibly may have time at a later date to sell the upgrade you made and the value of your car sale won't change by much. if thats the case...hold on to the stock part. My case in point would be say your using a set of Tein HA's or something. Well thats 1300+ bucks or whatever. If you can get 700-800 2 years down the line for the shocks and the person that wants your car will only give you 200more to keep the HA's on the car...then having those stock shock/springs is worth it. Now lets look at that same thing once again. What if you sold your stock suspension? now you just got to make sure you make a few bucks on the HA's upon your sale. Having performance parts on a car really never increases the value of your car and you have to know that up front. Sure its possible to find someone that will pay a bit more for a modded car but thats really tough. Have i convinced you its nothing more then a nasty circle? thats my whole point.
my opinion from past experience is sell what your not using and go on with what you have. This whole itr is rare thing is sorta nonsense unless your talking about the 97. That car will have value just like the 84 or is it 85mustang gt convertable. Its all about the first year of something really special. The other years become novelty.
my last opinion would be for you to keep the ecu if it'll work for your current setup...other then that collect the profits now because you may not be able to get nearly as much later and the sale of these items will heavily outway the difference in price of going back to stock later. this is also dependant on how long you intend on keeping your car

HEY Boba I am confused, you tell me to keep my parts, then you go and turn around and sell your stock stuff.

I hear you about it being a hassle to put it back to stock. But for me its even worse. I do none of the work myself, so I am paying a small fortune to have these put on, and then when its time to sell the car, just to make someone else happy, I have to pay another small fortune to put it back for him.
Please don't flame for not working on my car myself...I take my career very seriously, and the little spare time I have is for my daughter, not to spend a whole weekend under my car.
Well fortunately I have the 2k and the 97 now.
So i am making the 2k into a track only car and the 97 is just gonna sleep in the garage for awhile. And have fun on the weekends with me and my dad in the 2k.

HAHA so YD Todd which vote was yours
I say it depends on what your selling, Myself i have sold the exhausts off of my car and small other parts, stock seats etc, But i recently ripped down the engine and have the rods pistons cams ecu etc and i was going to sell them but then thought hey why not keep them for a later project. I guess it depends on what you plan on doing with the car. Good Luck
