I just bought the hood and just wodering that do I need to put some clear coat on or just install it directly? b/c i think maybe the clear coat will protect the surface of the hood......but I'm not sure. anyone with the experience with it, pls give me some advice. thank you very much !!

Or you could just paint it...

That is what I'd do.

 

If it doesn't come with a protective clear layer, I'd add one if unless your car only see's sunlight when it hits the track
