Awesome first autox
hey this is my first time posting in here and i also just finished my first autocross. the sports car club here sets up a course in a huge parking lot. it was just as fun as i heard it would be, tho i didnt get to drive my own car. i ended up driving my friends stock EF. it was still fun though. i cut almost 15 seconds off my time from beginning to end and felt more confident with each run. it took some getting used to driving someone elses car esp since i'm not used to not having power steering. i DQ'd 2 runs cuz i went off course for a small section but i hit a minimal number of cones. hopefully i'll be posting in here more in the future
also, i have one quick question: i mite be going home and bringing back my own car this weekend and i was wondering if i should just run pirelli p700z's i have on rite now. they are at like 95% but they're no azenis. still, my friend's tires were pretty worn and i still did ok. i was thinkin of just running street tires so i can get used to my car for the time being. anyone ever autox with drag radials
? they're still on my car after coming back from englishtown, but i was thinking they'd be worn bald by the time i finished. thanks alot guys.

keep driving on the p700's. You'll learn a lot more on tires with less grip. I've even gotten faster driving on es100's this year after falkens last year.
I still might even drive regular street tires(non azenis) at non divisional/national events just to try and keep making myself drive smoother.
sounds like you're having fun though, thats the most important thing.

That's cool news. I'm doing my first autocross in the R in one week and am stoked. If it's as much fun as I have heard, then I'll have a new hobby and an excuse to drive the car really hard for a few days a year.
nah i'm not at home rite now, i'm upstate at school but the car club holds a couple of event a year here. it's pretty cool cuz we help set up and work and stuff so we dont have to pay and there aren't as many people as some other areas so we get quite a number of runs in and then some fun runs where some people sometimes switch cars with each other
yea, run on the streets for a while and once they wear out, go for a set of azenis.i have seen people do well on jumho mx as well, so if those come in a better size for u, u could check them out as well as bfg kd's.
