b16a1 Swap tech question: THE AXLES!
ok ok if this is an old topic i'm sorry.
what (axles / cv joint boot or whatever ) do you need for the b16a1 swap?
i heard 90-93 integra axles but you have to remove something from the axles?
what about sir axles can you use those?
to sum up my question..
can anyone tell me what they did for the axle part in their swaps?
thanks a bunch!

You can use the SiR axles, I believe, though I can't verify this.
I used 90-93 Integra axles, with an S1 intermediate shaft, though I hear 90-93 Integra works as well.
You need to remove the dustshield that sits in the discbrake hub; pry it out with a screwdriver or prybar. Also, the axles will likely come with a ring on the dust shield end. Take this off as well, or the axles won't turn properly.

I remember Storminmatt saying that the perfect axle is actually a hybrid, with the D series axle ends on the hub side and B-series ends on the engine side.
match the axle with the int shaft. Teg shaft= teg axles, sir shaft= sir axles. If you have a sir int shaft, and need axles they can be made by using teg pieces from various years. You can have http://www.raxles.com custom make this setup you just have to ask. Ryan

This was a very timely post. I was about to post the exact same question.
So, if I get a complete swap from hmotorsonline, the axles that come with the swap will work without any modification?

350 from Raxels.. not thats just highway robbery.. lol, steve at HMotors will hook you up.. i get all kinds of EF JDM **** there.. good guy, but yeah, i mobbed the 88's for along time, when i was dumped... they were shorter, and teh 90's and up bound all the time, since then, ive raised up the car, and went back to 90-93.. that axle is basicly the same as the SiR... compared to the SiR? how can you go wrong with the same count of splines? same lenth, or close to... D outer, and B inner? it bolted in.. how can it be wrong?

Another data point for Raxles...called 'em up, spoke to some friendly guy and told him what car and motor/trans I had ('89 LX, B16/LS trans). $350 and a few days later, I had nice new axles that bolted right in with no tinkering of any sort.
But then, I'm lazy and would rather spend the money than fiddle with CV joints
