aem cai question?
I just installed the aem cai on my 01 gs-r. I had to leave the stock water bypass hose (and as a result the rest of the assembly) in b/c I couldn't remove it from the throttle body. I just used a piece of silicon hose to connect the air inlet on the intake to the stock assembly. This shouldnt be a problem, right? I am not even sure why aem had me replacing the hoses. I called aem but they offered no guidance. Any opinions or views would be appreciated. Thanks.
i think i know what you're talkin about. And if i am interpretting your description correctly, then everything is fine that way as long as the vaccuum hose isn't all pinched up in order to connect to the intake.
You are saying that you could not remove the stock hard pipe that is teh 2 fused pipes one being a coolant goin to the throttle body and the other being a vaccuum line from the valve cover rite?

You should be fine, no dramatic air-flow goes through there so its nothing to be concerned about. Just make sure it isn't crincked (sp?) and that atleast some air can get through.
