Car chokes when starting any suggestions?
recently the car has a bad start,
when i turn the key, it chokes for a few seconds before it starts,,,
back then it use to start on the first turn,
anyone know what might be wrong??
or what i might need to change or check up on?

Could be a few things...
1. could be that ur car isn't getting enough air?
2. could be that ur car isn't getting enough gas?
3. could be that ur car has bad spark plugs?
4. could be... there is more, but check these out first...

1...i checked my throttle body and cleaned it its doing ok
2...gas part i dont know how to check that? do i need to change the filter u think?
3...spark plugs was just changed less than 2k miles.
4...?
it only does this once in a blue moon, not always...so u think it might be my gas filter? i have never changed that before since i got the car at 57k miles.. im way over 100k now...

How about distributor cap & rotor, & spark plug wires? How old are they?

i changed them the same time i changed my spark plugs, had a tune up,
so the only thing i think that it might be is the gas filter?? i think...

fuel filter on 94+ is a bitch to change. Many ppl just don't want to do it unless the master brake cylinder is out. Try changing that if your over 80k miles...(technically the change interval is 30k)

well lets say, ever since i got the car i never changed the filter, nor do i know if the last owner did... so im assuming its been damn long since the fuel filters been changed
,,, how much you think local shops would do this for??
