Default Selling 1992 Civic HB CX w/ 2000 SI block & 2001 ITR head

Here is a conolidated post....I bought the car off of a H-T.com member, "Mike K" last June off of the boards. He worked at Acura in Naples, FL and had done a lot of great mods. I have also done some things to the car, suspension work and weight reduction mainly. Anyway, check it out....

1992 Honda Civic CX hatchback
*Red exterior, black interior
*Built DOHC VTEC motor swap(B16A2, 00 Civic Si), set up according to Motorola Cup/Speedvision specifications by professional outfit (AutoSport South of Boca Raton, FL)
*Approximately 130,000 miles on chassis, clean title, never been hit
ENGINE SPECIFICATIONS:
· 10.65:1 compression ratio , 8600rpm shift point, 9000rpm rev limiter
· Dynojet chassis tested at 168.8hp@8200rpm, 114.1tq@6600rpm
· Engine dyno tested at 197.2 flywheel hp@8175rpm, 133.7 flywheel tq@6650rpm (almost exactly 15% loss @ the wheels, which is extremely accurate) (will provide print-out)
MODIFICATIONS:
TOP END:

· Cylinder head disassembled and inspected, combustion chambers refinished within Motorola Cup specifications(42.8cc volume per chamber), 5 angle valve job, blended radius seats, all valvetrain balanced within 1/10th of a gram, reassembled with all original ITR parts. All work on head done by Louis Milone @ AutoSport South in Boca Raton, FL.
· 2001 ITR camshafts (3 more degrees duration than 1998 counterpart on intake and same as JDM CTR)
· AEM cam gears
· Modified OEM one layer headgasket w/copper moly sealant
· 1-year old OEM head bolts
· 2000 Civic Si intake manifold
· 1-year old gaskets and seals (OEM KIT # 06110-P73-A03)
BOTTOM END:
· 2000 Civic Si shortblock(less than 10,000 miles on it when installed…which equals about 15,000 miles now)

· 1-year old Integra Type R alternator and belt
· Bottom end is in tip-top shape and gets consistent 230psi per cylinder in compression test(average B18C5 gets 220-230psi), burns NO OIL!
FUEL SYSTEM/ELECTRICAL:
· 2001 Integra Type R fuel pump

TRANSMISSION:
· Integra Type R transmission (purchased NEW from Acura 2/12/02)

AutoSport South used to run 2 Integra Type R's in '97 for that circuit. They are same as stock ITR ride height, but extremely stiff with different progressive rates. You can't buy these anywhere.)
· EBC Green front brake pads

· Mazda Miata OEM 14”x6.0” rims (~10.5 lbs each…these are lighter, wider and more unique than the Civic HX rims) (FYI: they had to be bored out in the center to fit the Civic hubs, yet another reason you will not seem them very often (if ever))
· 195/55/14 Dunlop SP Sport 8000 tires up front (80% tread)
· 185/60/14 Kumho Ecsta HP4 716 tires in back (brand new)

· Tekniq Autosport removable steering wheel (great for theft!)
· 1-year old black carpet out of an EX (insulation has been removed)
NOTES:
· Windshield is aftermarket, not OEM Honda. Again, this is how I purchased the vehicle. There are no cracks in it, and it does not leak.
· There is an aftermarket sunroof (it has been sealed and I do not open it…it does not leak, it looks OEM, does not add too much weight since it does not have the motor)
· There is no rear interior, headliner or driver door speaker cover
· The A-pillar, passenger panel, and rear pillar/side moldings will be included (has all the necessary hardware too, I just didn’t want them in there)
· It includes the glove-box, but it is not installed and needs a part before doing so
· I have tore out the A/C, wiper fluid resivour, carpet insulation, and misc needless items) (see the weight savings document to see what I did with weights)
· I am in CA, the car will not pass smog. You will either have to have a “hook-up”, change everything over (lol) or just swap a stock Civic motor in to pass. If you are not in CA, then don’t worry about it (I bought it from FL, so it can be shipped)

I paid $6,000 for the car, plus shipping ($900), plus ~$4,500 (those damn Zeals!)…obviously I don’t expect that back, but wanted to clear it up. This car is great, the motor is so new…cause the previous owner (Mike K which used, maybe still does?, post on these boards) worked at an Acura dealership and got parts at cost. Not to mention, I stripped a lot of weight off of it and added some nice, top quality parts.

TIMES:
I have not run it at the track personally, here is what the previous owner, Mike K, said “Not sure about 1/4 miles, but it runs consistent 9.1's in the 1/8th mile, with my best being a 9.02@80.1mph. I got a 2.20 60ft that run.” “So it's a low low 14 second car, high 13s with a better, and lighter driver. (I am 230lbs, so the hatch is back to stock wieght with me in it, LOL)”

So…the care weighed 2194lbs at that point…it now weighs 2020lbs. (see other post) Plus, take the difference of your weight and his (230lbs) and you have a decent depiction of what it may run. My guess would be mid-13’s depending on driver and weight.

PRICE/TRADE:
I’m selling because I don’t feel like dealing with smog, and don’t have the desire/time/resources to swap a stock motor in (though I am sure it would be cheap and easy). Call me lazy. Also, though this car is quick, I don’t have the time to invest in it like I had hoped (taking it to the track, etc.) or the money to further improve (if possible ;-) Anyway, I will need another car to drive, so if you have the following:
· 1994+ Acura Integra
· 1997+ Honda Prelude
· 5th-6th gen Honda Civic
then I will consider a full trade, or most likely a trade & cash deal (all depends on model, year, and mods). On the other hand, a full cash sale is welcomed too. It should be noted that I will be willing to remove the Zeal suspension, and ITR rear LCA’s, to replace them with the OEM CX LCA’s and the ITR/GSR Motorola Cup shock/spring setup for considerably less (they cost me $1,800 and are among the best). OEM hood options may be considered, but not likely unless we are trading for the same model.

Anyway, E-mail me at Nylander@sbcglobal.net with ANY questions or offers (of if you want my phone number to talk instead). Thank you very much for your time, and sorry for the long post (though I had no choice!).

what kind of times have you run with this car?

i know someone with similar hp and similar weight with ITR transmission went 13.7@97 with drag radials down here.

he specifically had a b16a3, ITR cams, ITR Intake manifold, B16a3 tb, jdm itr header, no cat...nitto's, hx wheels. dynoed at 167whp, not sure of torque...

overall, sounds like a really nice car...would love to see pictures...as i have mike k's volk ce28n's on my car...(he purchased them, never used them...sold them to his friend who sold them to me without ever using them)

anyway...ttt...hope it sells.

I modified the original post (since I had some free time now) to include all of the info I have. The times your friend got would be close to what this car would do. It would come down to the driver IMO. TY for the support!

I just posted the car in the "Vehicles for Sale" forum, didn't realize there was one (wasn't last time I was here). Anyway, the pics are posted (via links), there are 5.
