tie rod help (i think)?? wobbling wheel HELP
lately my car (91 crx si) started to make a patterned thumping from front passenger wheel when turning and slowly got worse...now it thumps all the time so i took off the wheel and tugged on what i think is the tie rod... i'll try to explain what i'm talking about, looking at the rotor it is about level with the bottom of the rotor and to the left... has a bushing with castle nut thing underneath and on other end has accordian style boot.
well... the bushing is all blown out and the rod can turn side to side really easily and i can feel it hitting metal to metal then twisting rod side to side
now what do i need to do... can i just replace the busing or does the whole thing need to be replaced???
thanks for replies

you can just replace the rubber bushing http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com can get them for you. I was missing the hole thing on a side on mine. but now its fixed
yeah i found out its the tie rod end boot, i'm gonna try to pick one up at the dealer tomorrow... does this sound right torn little boot to make the knocking?
i was reading that the tie rod ends are used to ajust toe... so that could hurt my alignment so i guess i'll probably need an alignment after

After messing with it. An alignment wouldnt hurt.
