02 Si Hybrid
Hey guys...this is my first post, so sorry if it was already answered somewhere...i searched but couldn't find. Ok...so I am gettin a Si very soon and I read in SCC that they did a Civic rsx-s hybrid. Can anyone tell me how hard this is for a begginner? Tell me how I can even by and rsx-s engine? Not now, but in 5 or 6 months even want to help me?
The most I have ever done on a car is take off my engine cover (Which is a pain for VW's!) Anyways, I have driven the Si and fallen in love with it and i'm gonna buy an 03 one in vivid blue pearl. Back on topic, anyone with help I would greatly appreciate it!

P.S. And I look forward to becoming part of honda-tech and screw vw vortex

going rate for a RSX-S engine is 10,000.
Get a used 92-95 Civic and you will be much happier as far as your speed options go.
EDIT: My post made me look like an ***. So, it's a pretty strait forward swap for the RSX-S to a Civic SI however, you have to modify the shifter to go to 6th and you have to get your key reprogrammed at the Honda dealer to work with your new ECU.
This will be a VERY expensive project and I would suggest going with a 04 WRX STI w/factory warranty and 300 hp/300 ft-lbs over spending about the same amount for a FWD 200 hp Civic.
But, it's all up to you and what you want.

I'm buying the SI for the shifter hands down. And I am quite happy with the 160 hp for insurance reasons, AND I just was asking, as the hybrid for the current Si was just floating around in my head, and now floated out to the middle of the atlantic where it will never been seen again. Man that shifter is awesome!

Check out the new King Motorsports Mugen EP3 Civic. They swapped a new integra R engine into their car.
But this is something that is gonna take a lot of resources, both financially and technically. For the amount of money that this is gonna require, i can almost promise you that you would be happier having swapped a nice B series engine into a used car.
