Default Review: Action Clutch with AASCO Flywheel

I installed an Action Stage 2 KS clutch w/ 2,500lbs pressure plate and AASCO 8.75lbs flywheel. Right now I am running basic bolts-ons w/ no internal work, so the clutch has yet to see any real big amounts of power. My old clutch was destroyed when I took it out of the car, one of the springs had been torn off somehow and there was areas of bare metal on it at different spots, the flywheel was not looking good either.

I broke in the Action clutch for about 750km (JDM gauge cluster ), and it grabs great, I just drop the clutch and the revs line up and I'm off. Pedal feel is stiffer then stock, but I like that because it gives the car a better feel IMO, engagement point is about the same, and there is plenty of room for slipping the clutch when launching. On the flywheel, I feel like I should have gone lighter, even though some say 8.xx lbs is light, I didn't get the results I wanted from it. The revs go up slightly faster, but not as much as I was expecting, I think tightening my throttle cable will make the flywheel feel better.

I paid about $400 for the clutch, and around $250 for the the flywheel, I think it was a good investment. I still have yet to see how the clutch holds up to repeated launching at the drag strip, but from a couple night of street racing it looks like it'll hold up well.

Action Clutch
Pros:
-Good Quality
-Engagement point near stock
-Grabs good
-Nice pedal feel
Cons:
-Cost

AASCO flywheel
Pros:
-Good quality for aluminum
Cons:
-Too heavy for me

thanks for reading

nice review, I've got a 2KS to install as well. DO you get much chattering? I heard that kevlar will start to slip when it gets too hot? Let us know how it does at the drags

The way I drive it really dosent chatter, but I could see how letting out the clutch w/o enough gas could cause this clutch to chatter.
