sorry for basically comming out and saying "tell me what to buy" cauze i hate when pple do that w/o doing research on their own.. but alot of people have their opinions on diff alarm systems.

Go to the guys at Car Toys.... they know what they're talking about. I personally woulnd't go to best buy.... I had a bad experience buying car stereo stuff there. They're good for home audio but not so much cars.
We put a Clifford in the Integra and it was top of the line. It worked well until one night the car got broken into and people heard it but didn't do anything about it. I guess even the best ones don't keep people away. Anyways Clifford is a good brand, however, I think they might be more on the expensive side.

Clifford Vangurd is a good system they go for 700 to 1000, makes it very hard to steal, the no wires, it's a wireless system, so it has nothing to cut, just get top of the line stuff, **** car theifts, check out your local audio and aecurity stores, my firend owned one and i get all my work done there, he is in the bay area, so i don't think that helps u much, check ur local phone book and find a good place, that has good prices.
Car Toys is a store in Colorado that has car stereos, alarms, cell phones, basically anything you would want for a car. The people know their stuff and I've never had a problem...... I guess they're just local though.
The alarm is only as good as the install. Meaning if a theif wants your car, and it has an alarm, they usually just have to break a window, pop the hood, and cut your battery cable. If not that, then look under your dash to mess with the brain.
The only way I know of to fight the battery cable cutting is to get a siren with a backup battery in it. If cut, it will only shut off with a key. Wherever you go to get it installed, ask what kind of install they do. I might not have gone with cartoys if I knew how little effort they were going to put into it.
The brain should be hidden somewhere hard to get to, but they just put it like most other installers would, right under the steering column
