would keeping my h23 tranny when i do the h22 swap be a good idea. ive heard that it would not, but also heard that it wouldnt make that big of a difference. Whats the difference, are the gears longer in the h23 or is the h22 tranny just a better tranny? When i do the swap theres a 500 dollar difference if i keep my original tranny, or pay up and get the h22 tranny. Any of you guys whove done this swap please let me know if youve kept the og tranny and then changed it and noticed a difference, or if you swaped the tranny also what did you feel was the difference. Thanks in advance.
Yeah, I am unsure of the results too. I would love to see two people with the swap actually race to see if there is much of a difference.
I think the main question is when you hit the peak RPM range...if you shift with the H23...will it get out of VTEC. I would think that the longer you stay in VTEC (longer gear) the better it would be because the more you have to shift...the more time it takes you to accelerate (car slows down when you shift). I bet there are other things to take into account also. Any others??
I am wondering the samething because I intend on using my car on the track...not the dragstrip (if I wanted a fast straightline car I would have gotten a muscle car) and I would think that it should be more effective to stay in gears 1-3.
Does this make any sense?? Am I under the wrong assumptions anywhere???
