Default Overheating, Coolant is filled no leaks..

So my gf's car was starting to overheat.

She has enough coolant, there is no leaks, and 7 months ago she got a new radiator.

Any suggestions?

The valve in the thermostat is broke closed.

That is one possibility and most likely. Very inexpensive fix.

approximately 145,000..

and as far as maintenance.. It probably has not been replaced.

I think we will get a new one and see if that solves the problem.

Is it easy to replace a thermostat?

i had a similar problem too. I replaced the radiator, thermostat, thermo switch. There were no leaks and
coolant/water level was good. turns out my head gasket and related gaskets were going and caused overheating
try a leak down..see how that turns out....hope its smaller problem...head gasket is a headache and $$$$
good luck

Hell, I'm guess if they had to replace the radiator, the thermostat is shot the hell too.

Time to run down to advanced auto or autozone. LOL I think mine cost me $4.99 and the gasket was $.79 cents. lol

Took me an Hour and half to ******* install it thought and I cut up my knuckles pretty bad.

yea, there is a good possibility that its ur thermostat... i haven't done that personally, but i have read the procedure on my helms manual and seen the posts on the board in regards to it, and i don't think its anything that is high in difficulty level, but a pain the *** i hear to reach some of the bolts.
