7 mono amps....which is the best?
I recently purchased an Alumapro BP12 bandpass enclosure from fellow HT member Baz. I called Alumapro and they recomend running 300 rms@ 4 ohms. The Alumapro woofer has a rating of 96db! I am looking for a mono amp with 250 rms of PURE CLEAN power. I have it narrowed down to the following, which do you guys think is the best?
1) JBL BP600.1 http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/JBLBP6001
2) Kicker KX 400.1 http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/KIC02KX4001
3) Lightning Audio B2 350.1 http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/LITB23501
4)MTX thunder 421D http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/MTX421D
5)Pioneer GM-D500M http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/PIOGMD500M
6)RF Punch 301M http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/ROC301M
7)US Acoustics USX800D http://www.sounddomain.com/sku/USAUSX800D
Any help is greatly appreciated

The sub is wired for 4 ohm. AB? what does this mean? I am an audio noob
So your saying get a 2 channel and bridge it over a 1 channel?

AB is the amp topology. Class D amps are more efficient but noisier. AB is the "standard". Some on your list, like the jbl600.1 are class D amps.

i'm sure the extra "noise" wouldn't be audible, especially with bass.

You know that this is going to be insanely loud in your hatch right?
I had 150 watts going to it and it was rattling my poor trunk to pieces, the hatch will have a lot less vibration and sound very clean. Good luck and keep me posted!

Yes I know....I can't wait. I think hearing is overrated anyway
Anyway can someone please tell me what amp they would choose out of the 7 posted above?

None of the above:
JL Audio 250/1. Class D, 250 watts RMS for any load between 1.5-4 ohm (you didn't specify what impedance the subs where, but you don't have to worry out it), and it's will deliever it's rated RMS power anywhere between 11-5 to 14.5 V. It has a subsonic filter, variable xover points...... I could go on

welp, i dont know about those others amps, but i JUST got my JBL bp600.1 in the mail from ikesound.com yesterday, and i love it! im not exactly sure if its the best amp for your setup, but i do know this: it outputs a TRUE 600w, like it says, and so far, this amp sounds great and seems to be very durable and able to handle heat pretty well. i think its a great amp for the money (only 195 at ikesound!)

150 watts is loud for a week and then you need more
I still need an amp to run my tdx. I took a look at it while running full volume, and it hardly moves.

I agree. I would bet that most would not be able to tell the difference. It my show up on a scope but I doubt it would show up in your ear. But vteg is correct in that they are noisier than A or AB style amplifiers. Class D do offer great benefits as well, lower current draw.
Notice how most don't have the THD listed. One says<2% wow!!! another says .5% doubtful
I would choose the fosgate out of that bunch. It depends on what you want you said CLEAN. Well the best amplifiers are made with BJT's. Mosfet comes in second. I didn't notice any of these in your list. It is highly doubtful you could tell the difference.

none.
i would go with either this http://ampman.com/products/details.asp?id=930 or this http://ampman.com/products/details.asp?id=925. if u do decide to get one of these let me know. i can get it for u cheaper than ampman. my homie has a shop out in pasadena, he is authorized by ARC AUDIO. these amps will rock all the other amps u have listed above. if u are serious, i will get u prices asap.

Just pick up a JL250 mono on ebay! I got a brand new one from ebay in the 200-300 dollar range. I am running one to a JL 10w3 and it is the cleanest sounding system that I have owned. JL=quality
