Default Hyperfest racer information

NASA HYPERFEST RACER INFORMATION

http://www.hyper-fest.com/docs/RacerInfoPage.pdf
Race and Track time

All NASA events (Hyperfests included) are "double" race weekends so all race groups will have the following on each day of the event (Saturday AND Sunday):

Practice (up to 35 min)
Qualifying (15 min)
Race (up to 35 min.)

Points, Prizes and Awards Ceremony

Points will be awarded for both days of races.
Prize packages will be awarded based upon the winners of Saturday's races and be based upon official results.
Top three finishers of each class must report immediately after their race to event stage for photos with Miss Hyperfest spokesmodel winners and autographs on Saturday.

Prize Breakdown

Honda Challenge Over $1000 in Cash and prizes awarded to the winners of each Honda Challenge Class of Saturday's race. (Series points awarded for both races)

Miata Challenge Over $1000 in Cash and prizes to be awarded to the top 5 finishing drivers of Saturday's race. (Series points awarded for both races)

Legends Over $1000 in Cash and prizes to be awarded to the top 5 finishing drivers of Saturday's race. (Series points awarded for both races)

US Touring Car To be decided

American Iron To be decided

Racer Requirements

Licensing
All Racers MUST hold a current competition license from NASA, SCCA, FIA (INEX Drivers may hold an INEX license). This license will need to be presented upon request.
All Racers MUST be members of the National Auto Sport Association (See “How to Register” at bottom of this page)

Car Requirements

All cars must be legal according to NASA Club Codes and Regulations (Annual Tech and NASA vehicle logbooks will be available during Friday night and Saturday morning tech)
All cars must be legal according to the rules of their respective series.

The NASA CCR can be found under “rules” at http://www.nasaproracing.com
Spec Miata Challenge Rules can be found at http://www.nasaproracing.com/r...M.pdf
East Coast Honda Challenge Rules can be found at http://www.honda-challenge.com
Legends Rules can be found at http://www.600racing.com
US Touring Car Championship rules can be found at http://www.ustcc.com
American Iron rules can be found at http://www.nasaproracing.com under “rules” button

Note:
All Pre-Registered Drivers will have their names on a list at the “Will Call” gate. Each registered driver will be allowed 3 crew members. Crew members not arriving with their driver must go through the “Will Call” gate and mention the driver’s name. Once three crew members have been checked in all additional crew are subject to the gate fee of $15.

Registrations accepted at the track will be subject to a $50 late registration fee. Any non pre-registered racer arriving after 7:00am on Saturday or Sunday of the event will be subject to the $15 gate fee.

It is VERY STRONGLY recommended that all racers arrive at the track before 7:00am on the Saturday of the event. Any racer arriving after 7:00am may not make their practice session.

How to Register
<A HREF="http://www.hyper-fest.com/docs/HowToRegisterToRace.pdf
" TARGET="_blank">http://www.hyper-fest.com/docs...pdf
</A>

When you arrive at the track...
(It is strongly suggested that all racers arrive on the Friday evening before the event.)

1. Find your assigned paddock area (Based upon the series in which you are running)
2. Unload your car
3. The following system is designed not to penalize those that register late but to reward those that pre-register.
Pick one of the following that applies to you.
• If you have pre-registered AND already have a NASA vehicle logbook and annual tech for your car you don’t have to go to Techistration (i.e. NO LINES) but you must provide the following to your group liaison on Saturday morning:
Vehicle Logbook
Race Car Pre-Tech Form
Current Competition License
If all is in order you will receive your wristband (gets the DRIVER on the track) and your vehicle tech sticker (gets the CAR on the track). Group Liaisons will be introduced during the ALL HANDS MEETING

• If you have pre-registered but DO NOT have a NASA vehicle logbook and annual tech for your car then you must bring to Techistration the following:
Vehicle (You will be issued a NASA Vehicle Logbook)
Gear
You must provide the following to your group liaison on Saturday morning after the 7:45am ALL HANDS meeting:
Vehicle Logbook
Race Car Pre-Tech Form
Current Competition License
If all is in order you will receive your wristband (gets the DRIVER on the track) and your vehicle tech sticker (gets the CAR on the track). Group Liaisons will be introduced during the ALL HANDS MEETING

• If you have NOT pre-registered AND already have a NASA vehicle logbook and annual tech you must bring to Techistration the following:
Vehicle Logbook
Race Car Pre-Tech Form
Current Competition License
State Driver’s License
Form of payment for entry (Check, VISA/MC, or CASH)
If all is in order you will receive your wristband (gets the DRIVER on the track) and your vehicle tech sticker (gets the CAR on the track) from Techistration

• If you have NOT pre-registered AND DO NOT have a NASA vehicle logbook and annual tech for your car then you must bring to Techistration the following:
Vehicle (You will be issued a NASA Vehicle Logbook)
Gear
Race Car Pre-Tech Form
Current Competition License
State Driver’s License
Form of payment for entry (Check, VISA/MC, or CASH)

If all is in order you will receive your wristband (gets the DRIVER on the track)

Also as an FYI. BeaveRun HyperFest will be a combined MWHC/ECHC weekend. We will run one race, with only one winner in each class, but points will be counted separately by each region.

I know it was probably broken down in another post, but exactly what is included in this "over $1000" ??

-Richard, who is cancelling his upcoming SCCA race as we speak in favor of making a long pull to BeaveRun for an ECHC weekend.......

We are still getting in sponsors that are giving prizes but the cash will be divided evenly amoungst the HC classes that show up. Also there must be at least two in your class that start the race for that class to be eligible for the prizes. Points will be awarded no matter what. We have everything from t-shirts to models to gift certs for hard parts and half off NASA-Va race entries. Still haven't divided all up yet. (One of the many details). I should hear back from 76 fuels on monday. Each registered racer will probably get 10 gal of Cool Blue 100 for free (deal should be done monday. Will let you know when it is confirmed). The Cool Blue 100 is about 4.50 per gal.

Peace,
C

Not a good idea! I've had problems with this before... we need actual tickets or passes to give our crew... otherwise our REAL crew will be paying to get in, due to imposters.

Please keep in mind that the gates don't open to spectators until 8:00am. If you are racing your real crew should probably be there by then. The problem is that with today's technology tickets can be easily duplicated. Even pro football teams have counterfeit issues and they spend much more on ticket production than we have the ability to do. Plus if someone loses a ticket there is a hold up at the gate that we cannot afford. Most road racing facilities are not conducive to large events. There is no really good solution. BELIEVE me we have looked at many. This will be the simplest and generally the simplest is the best.

Then why not let us at least submit our 3 crew members names ahead of time, so there will be a list at the gate? And if a racer chooses not to submit his list of names then the first 3 that use his name can get in. Easy enough?

Please keep in mind 2 things - your crew COULD pay the entrance fee and then get reimbursed later during the day. Many tracks do that and are somewhat inflexible. If you are interested in doing that, then maybe a few extra crew members coudl volunteer their time to give out the reimbursements....

OR you can volunteer some people to help out at the entry gates to help check off the names of the crew. IF you haven't had the opportunity to be in that nightmare, I highly recommend avoiding at ALL costs that option.

It should be easier to check off names than to write them down.

That's fine with me if you are willing to manage the list. Meaning that once a driver registers they send there crew names to Robert. Robert will manage any substitutions and the final list will need to be provided to me by Monday May, 12. I will add the names to the list and we will be cool. Would you be willing to volunteer to do that to help out your fellow racers?

Peace,
Chris

Sure, No Prob. Racers can send me their name and their 3 crew member names. I will copy and paste them into a list, and send that list to you before the event.
If the racer's name isn't on the list, just add it at the gate, and let the first 3 people that mention that name be their crew.
