Why does the H22A Block need to be resleeve?
I was looking into building my block and wanted to see why the H22's need to be resleeved if using different pistons. Does anyone know?
Becuase H22s have whats called FRM (fiber reinforced material). That basically means, forged pistons put in a stock block will **** your block..because the forged piston will not "agree" with the FRM and then will lead to scaring of the cylinder walls.
weisco (sp?) claims to have forged pistons that are FRM compatible. I was going to get those but blew the engine up before I got a chance to build it
Thank's for the info guys. I'm just gonna hold off on the build then seems like it takes alot more work than other motors.
