i am fairly new to the import scene. i read as much as i can. im about to have enough money to put down on an integra. what year should i get. i dont understand the obd1 etc thing. if you could explain that would be great. I noticed some years are diffrent then others. do the newest tegs have the better computer managment then older. any advice would help. should i get a new 97 up integra and switch out or what. thanks

a 90-93 will be cheaper and is much better looking IMO. the motor's are the same except with some revisions. yes, an older car with the potential of higher mileage can have its problems. but there are very few problems with any integras. for more info on 90-93 tegs, check out http://www.g2ic.com

98-2001 the styling is much better. the chance of something going wrong is a lot slimmer. It comes with OBDII, but that can be switched out if wanted.

with Honda motors you don't really have to worry about mileage. I just bought a 98 w/ 85000 miles and everything is fine

Keep reading up.. the obd1 thing has to do with emissions. Previous to 95 (correct me if im wrong) are obd1. Anything newer is obd2.. more smog equipment (ie 2 oxygen sensors) more restrictions on what you can do if you want to pass smog.. Do what you want, dont let anyone tell you what to do.. Yes 98+ look nicer but it is the SAME body as the 94-97 but has newer headlights and front and rear bumpers and different taillights. ALL integras are good. Pick up an older on like a 94-95 and restyle it for way cheaper than you can pick up a stock newer one! You can pick up a 94 and flip it out (motor upgrades, paint, wheels, whatever) for less than you can pick up a newer one for.. But its what you want to do. My suggestion.. pick up an 94-95 and make it the way you want it! Let us know how it goes!

IMO the 90-93 is still a good platform. Mileage, however, is a BIG factor. These tegs still look good for being a decade old. Get one of these and swap a newer motor in.

it really depends on how much money u have
if u dont have that much money i recomend geting a second gen integra (90-93) because its looks good and it preatty much the same thing as the 3rd gen integras. 3rd gen integras are too common. its hard to come by a clean 2nd gen integra. but if u have the money by all means go ahead and get the newer integras. I have a second gen because it was a lot cheeper and its very simmiler to the never 3red gen integras

94-95, because of OBDI. you can always upgrade to the 98+ front end later.
