b16 ef track question ...
for those of you w/ b16 ef and who go to track days ... meaning road course, not 1/4 mile ... do you hang w/ the other types of cars on the track or do you sometimes wish you were running ls/vtec or b18 ? i have a dd crx that i want to build into a budget track car so i want to stay 1st gen B if it will give me the desired results but if it is lagging i want to just go big to start off with. i will be racing at VIR and there are the obligatory porsche/viper guys there and i don't want to be huggin the outsides of the curves to let them go by!!
before rj locks thisone up, are u doing hpde or w2w? if ur doing hpde, then it doesnt matter how much power you have. i do hpde with 70hp and, although it may be more fun with 170, i have fun and learn alot. which is the idea behind hpde. if ur going w2w, u must be running echc since thats the only place to race legaly with engine swaps.

I'm rolling hype-arrrrrrrrs with my nearly 200,000 mile stock B18A1.......
Once i get a 60mm rear sway bar i'll be all set.
I'm sure someone like Oscar or Corey could take the car out and roll arrrs like it was their job. HP really doesnt have much to do with fast lap times.
Oh yeah, HPDE's are not racing. They are schools, about learning, safety and fun.

I know of individuals who have tested the LS/Vtec in race conditions and have had problems with enough oil flowing through the block. Plus there's issues with the LS rods holding up in high rev conditions.
