At least it's the front, and not the rear. As long as there's no frame damage, you should be OK.

What the F**K happened?
He cut in front of you then he slammed his brakes?
Another question but may sound dumb. I never experienced an airbag deploy on me, (knock on wood). When it deployed, did it slam on your chest or the seatbelts held you in your seat? Did it hurt?
If you don't want to answer this and bring back bad memories, that's fine.

No, I guess he assumed that there's no car coming, and just cross the main road. I did not even see him coming. No the airbag did not hurt. I was wearing seatbelt, and that prevented me from hitting the airbag. Plus, I was too pissed to worry about myself.

A good body shop can fix your car so it looks just like new.

White is an easy color to fix, too.

I will leave that ( lawsuit ) as an option.....!
I think his parents ( or the owner of that car ) should be responsible for the accident.

Ouch! Sorry man.

I know how you feel having wrecked my R too. It sucks and you'll miss it dearly while it's in the shop.

euro,

Your car is still in the shop?

Boba- who would be beating some *** if his car was still in the shop after 8 weeks.

Unfortunately yes. I called today to ask what the hell they were doing and they said they were putting the interior and glass back in and should be calling me within 6-7 days to come pick it up.

I think they're only working on it 2 days out of the week and that's why it's taken so long. You better believe I'm taking to Acura to inspect the repairs when I get it back. I've got no reason to not trust this shop, I'm just extra cautious.

It will never be the same................true. But once you get that JDM front end on, you'll be happy.

Not only could you get the JDM front end you can also get the JDM steering wheel. Don't worry your R will be fine.

How much does the USDM airbag run? if it is in the high 500s, I might as well get a JDM spec steering wheel.

Get it on a frame machine and have it pulled straight. It'll be slightly tweaked, but don't let all these naysayers tell you it won't be the same. Honda frames are really easy to pull to within 1mm of spec. Slap on the JDM frontend if you like, and you'll be all set. Minor frontend accident. Don't worry. My car handles better now than it ever did.

From the bottom of my heart as one who knows just what you are feeling;

I am truely sorry for you...

Good luck and if there is any way I can help or lend any useful info feel free to ask. I also bought my totalled PY back from Statefarm and resold her to a fellow R friend.

Sorry Yoshi,

Good luck,

A.

Not to add to the pain. But i wreck my ITR last weekend too. My R is basically driver side up so you see the whole passenger side is messed up plus the hood and the top. I'm trying to put it behind me and is also thinking about JDM frontend.

Anybody has any experience doing this through insurance claim. How did the process go?

Henry

TypeRmsm if the airbag costs around 650, then I might as well get the JDM type R, or the Mugen steering wheel. Any of you guys know how much they run brand new?

The other party's insurance company declared my car a "total loss", what should I do, and do any of you guys know the buy back procedure, and can I sue them since the Type R is a limited production if they just give me my car's value?

Please help.

Tell them you want FULL Retail value of the car and then buy it back and part it out or make a full race car out of it.
