Update / Backdate: sohc vtec f22b1 for Accord
I don't know enough about Hondas to know if this is a legal swap for a '94-97 Accord. Is the SOHC VTEC F22B1 a JDM engine, or was it sold in the USA as well? The cars are on the same line in the rulebook, so I guess the question is whether that engine is JDM only and / or if it was sold in the USA paired with a 5 sp.
The car in question is a '94 - '97 gen (dunno which year) Accord that currently has the SOHC non-VTEC F22B2 and an auto trans, and the swap is to the VTEC B1 with a 5 speed.
legal?
thanks in advance.

just make sure the engine you get is the usdm engine. they may have the same code, but one may be higher compression.
I could have put a 2001 f23a1 in my 90 accord, if I wanted to prep the car to sp rules.

Isnt that the EX model engine? That could be had with a 5 speed..... so, legal swap if the cars are on the same line in the rulebook, its legal.
i'm sure those motors are cheap too
