Do the 4 door GSRs get stolen too?
OK, possibly stupid question...
I just got my '01 GSR kind of in a rush because my other car died. I've had it for like a week or two and I'm loving it. Anyway, then I started hanging out here and hearing how this thing is a theft magnet. Is it mostly the coupes or do the sedans get horked too? I peeled the VTEC badge off mine to attract less attention. Anything else I should do?
As a side note, my condolences to all of those who have had their car screwed with. That has to suck when you work hard for a car and appreciate it as the crowd here seems to.

The GSR sedans are much much more rare than coupes. So, yes, your's actually has a better chance of getting stolen.
Plus, its easier to get into your sedan than a coupe, because on the sedans, you don't have that frame that goes around your windows. So, its sooo easy to pull the window out, and slide something into the car to unlock it, and boom! You just got jacked!
The coupes have that window frame that goes around the window, but, they're still fairly easy to get into also, just not as easy as the sedans.

Markus, you might want to check out the threads on "RS Door Handles" that is going on here... To make it more difficult to unlock the doors from the inside, many of us have replaced the inner handles with older RS style ones, which have no 'autounlock buttons' on them.
Every bit helps!

I hope they dont get stolen as often, but I am sure they are magnets as well simply because of the motor and parts on them .. interchangable with other tegs.
disable your power locks or do the inside door handle swap please.. that is a first step to avoiding theft.
then decide if you want an alarm or a lojack or an 'autolock' or do some custom kill switch.

I don't think you need to go as far as getting the RS door handles...... you can just disconnect the conector behind the door panel
you figure that mainly all the want is the seats and the motor (and a few body parts) so yah i would guess that 4drgsrs get stolen

they do get stolen.... there is a nice screwdriver mark under the handle on my passanger side door to prove it. The damn ******** want the seats, the engine(head or block), and .......
we know people w/ GSR 's are not buying them to drive them at 3k...we rev our car's out and rarely keep um stock. In other works ...any hard work you have done, they will want to take!
the dealer had told me that they get recoveries weekly. They also said my alarm is what saved me. they must have hear it and walked
