why is it a waste of money, doesnt "Sun" and other grounding companys claim 10 hp and better running engine. Tommy Gunns in the ITR made some i think, look around, dont be so quick to judge
at 130 dollars it would be a waste of money, at 15 for materials, i think it's worth a look. i'd be interested in hearing more about this. i am and have always been a fan of the DIY crowd.

run one from all of those to the batt? (neg terminal of course)
btw, not a waste of time and money.....go talk to EDO on clubrsx.com got 5hp out of it. and for a practically free kit.....im all for it. plus makes the engine bay look alot better. but to each his own i spose. from what i have heard, it also helps the car start much better too. but hey, im all for it. ciao and take care.

excellent, from what i hear you leave the tranny ground alone, is that correct?

for 130 bucks I would much rather replace my:
tranny fluid
oil/filter change
cap/rotor
NGK plugs and wires
fuel filter
air filter
your car WILL feel better. I guarantee it.

You're missing the point. He's MAKING one himself. I made one myself for $30 and it was not a waste of money. Better start ups, better throttle response and better in cabin electrical management. Def. worth it if you DIY. Fo $130 you would be wasting money, but for $30 and the satisfaction of doing it yourself it's well worth it.
B2's mounting points are where i put mine. Ask Tommy_gunns on this board if you need more help (he used to make the kits).

you are missing my point completely. proper maintainence comes first.
8 or 6 gague wire with protected terminals in the proper place shouldnt
cost you more than $30 and an hour of your time. if the benefits of this mod
are worth the time, kool. most aftermarket stuff is way overpriced and
dont back up the claims while running solid OEM parts have a much better
chance of maintaining new/like new performance.

It's worth every penny.
I made my own set out of 4GA wire and I noticed HUGE difference in high RPMs. It just seemed like the engine was running smoother.
Other people that got a chance to my car noticed it too. So replacing even just your tranny and engine ground with 4GA wire will be worth your time.
The only problem I see is finding something to crimp the wire. A clamp will not cut it. You do not get a good enough hold on that thing. I suggest you take the wire precut and the two terminals to a audioshop where they have a 4GA crimper and have them do it. They'll do it for free most likely.

sorry to bring this topic back from the dead. but i did do the diy grounding kit this weekend and i noticed a pretty big difference. im running 800watts just to my sub and when i have it turned up it used to be every time i let off the gas, my rpms would dip down to like 500 and studder back up to 750. now there is no dip and when i have my stereo off it is that much better. thanks for the help guys. adios.

The battery is 0GA.
I get Monster cable wire for free, so I used that. Very high quality wire.
I guess you could go to any stero shop and purcahse 4GA wire seperatly. It's normally used to wire large amps together.

I replaced my grounds with some OFC 4 gauge. Can't say that I noticed a difference, except maybe slightly easier starting.
The old grounds looked pretty rough. The new grounds certainly look nicer.

FYI: My Local radio Shack has 8 gauge wire, 1 conductor only in red. It was .99 a foot.
You can also find Black, but I put off on the red for now.
Oh, you have to ask them for it, sometimes they have it up front on the shelves on rolls but some stock it in the back as did the local shop here

stock battery cables are 4 ga. (2 to the fusebox, 1 to the starter, and 1 ground to the body). For a ground wire kit, 8 ga. should be more than adequate. 4ga. is overkill and also much harder to route (and crimp as previously mentioned).
If you do want to use 4 ga. I would suggest getting those gold-plated ring terminals that have a setscrew. Those are much easier and hold much better than a crimp connection, plus they are reusable.
