Default good paint shops in san diego?

i'm looking to paint my accord next month and i live in sd, cali. i want to paint it graphite grey pearl that's on the is300. i've only been to one shop so far. sinful enhancements estimate was 3000. that's too damn much for me so if anyone knows any other good paint shops i'd really appreciate it. i'm only looking to spend 1500-2000 so if there's a good shop that could do it tell me.

If you're looking for a straight paint job, w/out a lot of shaving/molding custom work, Marks Chapparone/Caliber Collission in Clairemont does very good work, they've painted two of my cars, color matched moldings and painted a few bumpers for me. Always impressed with their work. It's on Daggett street off of Balboa.

NICEnEASY, SDCS, CIVIC CENTER...all do custom work and showcars...NICEnEASY painted that goldish CRX on the cover of IT last year, SDCS does real good work, for a decent paint job they charge around 1300.00 or so, others cost a little more, CIVIC CENTER is right off the 5 freeway heading towards 32nd NAVAL BASE...they do good work too...

SDCA is off main street by the naval base too
CIVIC CENTER is off 8th Street heading to the base
NICEnEASY is down in Chula Vista...
GOLDCREST is somewhere down by UNIVERSITY...

im sure you'll find these places legit...almost 70% of cars in SD are painted in either these places...

Forgot to mention Western Sports Car in El Cajon. They do pretty good work as well, I don't think it's as thorough as Chapparone, but if you strip the car down, they do good work. He's painted 5 or 6 of my friends cars. Here's a pic of his Civic they painted, before it was sold to my friend Kris, the current owner. It's been almost 2 years since it was painted.

well, as for SDCS, i would NOT recommend them. they shaved the mouldings and painted my gf's car and there were a couple of major flaws and a few minor flaws.

the major flaw was, there are ripples all along the doors from i'm assuming, when they welded in a plate to cover the gap left from the removed moulding.

the minor flaws consisted of nicks along the edge of the passenger side door.

on top of all this, the bodywork took a very, very long time.

Wow, old thread brought back from the dead. Since posting my reply, I needed to have an OEM front bumper painted, went back to Chapparrone off Balboa, where I've always gone for the past 5 years or so, and everything was different. They refused to do the work. The people I always went to were no longer there, and they're under new management. They prefer insurance work, and don't do anything custom at all, as well as "parts." I was referred to Custom Auto Body in Clairemont, and I'm glad that I found that place. The guy I dealt with was named Ron Melanson, extremely professional, and organized, and the bumper I had painted went beyond my expectations. It looked factory fresh, as there wasn't one error, it was a perfect match to my cars custom color, and it was done 1 day before expected, as I told him I needed it before the weekend. I highly recommend their work, and will be going there in Dec/Jan for a respray of my hatch. Not sure what they would charge for a full paint job, but from a service and workmanship standpoint, they have a new loyal customer
