Default whisteling noise

when in gear, usually from 2nd on up, from 2k-4k rpm, and 25% throttle (i have vafc), theres a whisteling noise, and only under all those conditions... its been getting progressively worse... ne help would be appreciated, thanks.

most CAI's make that noise... i noticed it dramatically when i used my GS-R TB on a skunk2 intake manifold...

well yea, i got an aem short ram, but it never whistled on my '00 si that had a cai.. if its the intake, then whys it only whistle under those certain conditions?

its air traveling throuh a tube. when it reaches a certain velocity or frequency, it will whistel. normal to hear it when you have an open filter intake.

It's the air filter. Most AEM CAI's do it, I noticed that my friends Arospeed (chuckle) short ram intake does it the worst on his 96 hb.

Nice theory, but it's actually the turbulant air passing over the butterfly in the throttle body that creates the whistling noice, and it's audible when you have an aftermarket CAI because the stock resonator box is removed which dampens the sound.

i personaly love the whistlin sound, of course everytime soeone comes into my car who dont know about any of that stuff there all always like "whats that noise' or, your cars breaking, "or you need new breaks" haha

My 99 GSR with a skunk2 IM and a GSR 60mm TB whisltles. With my ITR TB it whistles even more.

cant u get a whistle if u have power wires for your system runnin too close to something...so if ur music is down and u accelerate you can hear it...i thought that was another of the whistles...
