Goin from D15 AUTOMATIC to B16 STICK anything u guys wanna warn me to expect ahead?
Im swapping my del sol over to A b16a manual w/hydro trans. its currently fot a d15 automatic and its SLOWWWWWWWWWW anyway, is there any suprises i should expect while doing this so far ive got CLUTH MASTER CYLINDER, and CLUTCH PEDAL ASSEMBLY, will i need a slave cylinder or any hoses? HELP thanks.
If you're talking about just swapping the tranny, I'm sorry to tell you, but D & B series trannies are not interchangeable. If you want that tranny you have to do the whole motor swap. If you want to keep your D15, then the best tranny for you would be a D16Y8 tranny or a JDM D15 tranny out of the VX i think. That is a rare one but comes with a OEM LSD.
The only thing i can tell you is i just did a tranny swap on my sons 89 civic we went from an auto to a stick and what a pain in the buttt. It still isn't right but anyway you have to get different axle's, different starter, and your steering column may have to come out to get the pedal setup in and in his case anyway don't get a short throw shifter because it will hit your exhaust pipe underneath the stock shifter will work that you get with the tranny. Well good luck. Right now i am not getting any juice to my starter so i have to see if it has something to do with the safety nutrual switch or something more fun lie's ahead
