Default teg died on highway...

so my bro was diving his teg to work today and his front is messed up and hasnt had the oiil changed in arounnd 8-9k miles....so he said there was a loud noise and it started to smoke, he killed it and pulled over. So when he tried to start it back up it just made more smoke....so i went over there and it started up, but the engine was shaking like crazy...we were going to go back later and get that hood open and put 1-2 qts of oil in there and hope for the best to get it back home for now....
What you guys think? Just the oil or you think anything else is messed up...

Oh yea does anyone know how long before they tow his car? We won't be able to go back there till like 5 hrs from now...

Hard to say what happened.

if motor is shaking, motor mount could be out.

Check coolant for oil. Check spark plugs for oil.

update:
ok so here is what happened...arg...me and my friend went out...found out it had been towed, so we had to pay the 100 for towing. We bought some cheap motor oil form napa for $1 a quart, so we pour it in there (finding out there is NO oil in the car at all) and fire it up...oil is leaking, kinda spraying everywhere and smoke is coming out of the exhaust abnormally. After about a minute of running, a piece starts to fly around inside the engine bay and falls to the ground....so we jack the car up only to find that the front part of the engine block...we can even see the connecting rods and what not.
so anyway hes gonna junk the car b/c he doesnt wanna put more money into a car he doesnt plan on owning to much long...
whats a good way to get rid of a car w/a blown motor and a damaged front end?

Hey, I've been there... and I've done that. I replaced my motor and it runs much stronger now than it ever did before.

man, my car is comsuming soooooo much oil. i dont know if its the rings, or head. i just replaced all the exhaust vavles but i didnt change the vavle guides.

Would it be cheaper to buy a new motor or rebuilt mine MYSELF. which i am capable of doing.

If were thinking about replacing the block and probably the exhaust mani, how much you guys think a shop would charge for labor? Ill get some pics in when I can, but were just weighing out all options before we get rid of the car. Anything else you guys think can be f***ed up?
How hard would do you guys think it would be to do it ourselves, my friend is going to mechanic school but has mostly worked on GM cars, so this would be really different...

just get a b18b block, they go for $500-900 depending on mileage. Prob 300-400 for labor from a shop to install, or if you have some good friends and a helms-free

Yea my broken *** TEG is great. Its fun to break it, then you get to make it better.
Budget permitting... you can find another GSR shortblock for about 600 used.
Dont get rid of the car.
