snapping axles
has anyone had a problem with breaking axles on a lowered rex?
i've got a '91 crx si, i'm not sure exactly how much lower it is than stock but each front fender is like 22.5" from the ground...
i do have a camber correction kit installed and the alignment is correct...
if anyone has experience like this please let me know
i snapped my third axle in a month last night...
thanks

hmmmmm thats very weird.. seen it happen but mny buddy has a B20/VTEC... and was the power that snapped them..... anwyays. make sure u installing them right. also i dont think very lowered might cause a prob... VC joints can go toa very respectable angle without braking. unless u acutally gun it alot while turning....
I know this may be a weird question but do you do alot of burn outs or spin the tires while cornering because this will increase the chances to snap axles the car being dropped would usually make it easer to brake cv's my friend had a 88 cr-x si dropped on eibach sport lines and he broke his cv join twice got nuspeed springs and a new set of struts and he is cherry now
no, i don't burn out or spin through corners or anything like that...
i've got ground control coilovers with oem struts... i was driving the car normally and the axle broke... (this last time i picked up the car from the shop on monday, and the joint blew on tuesday night)...
i'm not the one doing the installs, they are being done by a shop in town... i have scheduled an appointment with a honda specialist to have them do the axle on friday... hopefully, the first shop will reimburse me for the work that they have already done...
i don't know what's going on but it is very frustrating...

also... i'm sure it's not from too much power... i've still got the d16a6 motor with just a few minor bolt ons... header, intake, clutch etc...
