2000 Accord Engine Swap...have Question.
Hey, this goes out to anyone who has or knows someone who has installed the H22a engine into a 2000 Accord or any Accord Coupe from 1998-2002. Please share some info with me before i make a bad decision. Thanks.
page 2 of the accord forum has a thread titled 6th gen H22 SWAP INFO. Please spend 2 mins reading thread titles before you post
here's the link to the swap info:

i see you are in louisiana, my swap was done by my friends in Baton Rouge, if you want the easy way out, i can give you their number so you can contact them to see how much they would charge you to do the swap. they are very good with hondas and have built many motors before and they dont charge rediculous prices that the other shops around louisiana do, they also have reliable 11 and 12 sec. cars that are daily driven, so you wont have to worry about the work if you've never heard of them.
as far as making a bad decision, i dont think the h22 is a bad decision, its a heafty price tag but in the long run you have a lot more that you can do to the engine than you can if you just built the f23 that is currently in the car.
i only got a chance to run the car 2 times at No Problem raceway over my spring break when i was over there so they can check all my clearances to see if the motor was running properly. first run i had a bad launch but managed to pull off a 16.0@88mph, that was all motor so i know that there has a lot more potential than that if i get a proper launch...the second run i broke an axle so i couldnt get a better time or back up the 16.0, that's why im still claiming no timeslip in my sig.

get a J32A2 instead.. CL-S engine... and u can get the 6spd manual </TD></TR></TABLE>
the j32a2 with the 6 speed manual tranny would cost an arm and leg to get plus the 6th gen accords arent all that heavy when compared to the 5th gen preludes, 6th gen accords weigt in at 2943lbs for an lx and 2976lbs for an ex (manual transmission) the prelude weights in at 2954 lbs. (manual transmission)
now according to the figures, if a prelude supposedly runs 15's with a stock h22, if you drop that same motor into the accord, times shouldnt be too much off of that considering that the accord is around the same weight class.
swaping in an engine in stock trim and running 15's is possible with the h22 so it's not as bad as most would think, plus it's cheaper then what you can get a type-s v6 motor for.

Believe me the V6 has run across my mind many many times (i dream of the NSX just like we all do at night) ... but i do plan on pulling out all the stops on this car and shaving as much weight as possible. And the h22 weighs less than the bigger v6, and besides once i talk to the folks at turbonetics and nitrous express...two more cylinders wont matter to me anymore. Plus there is always that feeling of pride when a 4 cylinder honda bitch slaps some cocky 5.0 or Z28 driver. Once again thanks for the feedback people...always appreciated.
