Which part of the exhaust is the B-pipe?
I see the header, right after it is the cat, then you have a pipe going into a resonator, then it goes towards the passenger side, a small resonator-looking bulge right before the muffler, then muffler and tip. So is the resonator section the B-pipe? Someone told me that if you remove the resonator part and run a straight exhaust, you get a crackly, poppy, nasty exhaust noise?
never tried it - but most N1 exhausts don't have a resonator on the b-pipe (which is the part between the cat and the axle). There is actually another resonator just before the axle that has "futuba" written on it. The diameter of the pipe seems to go down here (or double walled stops?).

Yep, the section behind the cat and leading up to the muffler is the b-pipe. Removing the CAT can also lead to backfire noises as well as taking out the resonator.
