5th gear grinding?
I have a problemo with my fifth gear sometimes, as it seems to grind sometimes when I shift into 5th, unless I wait for awhile when shifting from 4th to 5th and slowly change gears. Is this due to the clutch or the synchros? Also, how does this happen? Is it due to the fact that I switch into 5th to early? How much does it usually cost to get some new synchros? Do I need to get a new tranny?
Thanks

its your synchros in your trannie. it will start grinding in only 1 gear at high rpm's only. then it will start doing it at lower and lower rpm then to more gears. this happen to me and it started geting really bad so i had to get a new trannie. i asked around if the synchros can be replaced or fixed but most ppl just told me that it was easyer and i was better off just geting another trannie.
by the way i couldent find a b16 trannie so i get stuck with an ls trannie for my b16
gas millage=
hope this helps

yeah double clutching does help stop the grind sometimes but it takes forever to double clutch. when i had my messed up trannie the only way to stop it from grinding was to double clutch or rev match
