Default cv boot?

this is for my friend...he's out of town right now, but he messaged me. he said there is some green liquid all over his tire and axel. his cousin said it was probably his cv boot, but i told him i'd ask. any ideas on what it is. he has a 96 accord LX automagic. said it was on his driver side.

any help would be great.

The CV boot is easily replaceable. Just sounds like he's busted his cv boot....
