Exhaust resonator burning out?
I posted a couple of weeks ago about a burning/sizzling noise coming from my exhaust after a drive. Well I replaced my stock cat with a T1R resonated test pipe, and the noise is still there when I turn off my car. Well, the other day I took a drive from Orlando to Tampa, so I put my silencer into my Apexi N1. When I took the silencer off today, I noticed small clumps of metallic fiber that got caught between the muffler tip and silencer. It looked like resonator packing. Could it be the T1R resonator breaking in since its new, or is it a problem with the resonator in the Apexi catback? If it is a resonator burning out, would it hurt anything?
It is probably part of your exhaust. It happens to me all the time. I believe it's just the exhaust resonator.
Won't hurt performance or anything like that.

resonators are made up a glass material and eventually breakdown due to heat..id replace it with a 4" round mag...and it ll go a long way in quieting the exhaust without having to put the silencer on too
